Pacers fan, has published his first book, 'But This Is Indiana…,' which chronicles his childhood, family, and Pacers fandom. The book covers the team's 2025 season, including their run to the NBA Finals, where they ultimately fell short against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7. Bond, a 2004 graduate of Indiana University's journalism program, drew inspiration from his experiences attending 10 Pacers playoff games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse during the team's 2025 playoff run. The Pacers finished 50-32 and entered the playoffs as the East's fourth seed, ultimately requiring five games against Milwaukee, five against Cleveland, and six against New York to reach the Finals. Tyrese Haliburton's injury in the first quarter of Game 7 proved pivotal, as the Thunder went on to win the game and the Finals. Despite the loss, Bond found solace in the moments that made Indiana basketball so special, including a game-winning shot by Haliburton that he witnessed live at Gainbridge Fieldhouse with his 10-year-old son, Alex. The experience left a lasting impression on Bond, who dedicated the book to his father, Robert, who passed away in 2022 and played a significant role in his interest in basketball and writing. The book is available on Amazon, with an e-book price of $4.49 and a paperback price of $11.99. Recent form (last 4): 1W-0D-3L (LWLL, most recent first).
